When you purchase HAWKER® products, you’re not only buying top of the line batteries and chargers, but you’re also becoming part of a network of premium dealers, the HAWKER® Dealer Network.
Being a member of this network helps provide you with expert advice and solutions, authorized service technicians, and more. You don’t have to just take our word for it. We interviewed John Kenemore of Battery Concepts International Inc. to see how a partnership with Hawker has taken his business to the next level.
The team at HAWKER® has partnered with John Kenemore for over seventeen years. The backbone of the HAWKER® Dealer Network is strong working relationships with each member of our network, while our dealers function autonomously.
“I founded Battery Concepts International Inc. (BCI) as the Incorporating Director in November 1998. I took this position after completing almost thirteen years in military intelligence with the U.S. Army,” says Kenemore. “My skills in analysis and data gathering were honed by my training in the military. Because of this training, it was a natural development that this data-driven approach should be the focus of my company and employees.”
A data-driven strategy is one that HAWKER® also utilizes in the motive power industry. Backed by research, technology, and data, we can solve problems, create long-term solutions, and maintain technical support for our clients.
“My goal has always been to assess operations through observation and data collection. For BCI, this goal helps to deliver the lowest total cost of ownership solutions to my customer partners,” says Kenemore. “These solutions drive productivity and benefit employees and the bottom line.”
BCI has employed this strategy in a primary role with Hawker since 2003. Together, we’ve partnered to bring materials handling solutions to Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico.
A key region that has recently experienced an expansion in the material handling industry is the market in Mexico. Battery Concepts International Inc., HAWKER®, and local materials handling partners are known throughout the entire country of Mexico. BCI has customers ranging from Tijuana to Guadalajara, and from the Yucatan Peninsula through Veracruz up to Monterrey, along with Mexico City, its suburbs, and Queretaro.
Additionally, BCI currently has physical locations in El Paso, Texas, Ciudad Juárez, Mexico City, and San Jose Chiapa, Mexico.
“At BCI, our primary business model is partnering with and developing the local dealer companies that sell and service electric vehicles and other materials handling vehicles,” says Kenemore. “Our goal of partnering with these companies in the Mexican market is to act as their technical experts. We provide extensive sales and technical training, and it has been tremendously successful.”
In addition to the expert programs available from HAWKER®, BCI has been continually developing proprietary software systems. These software systems increase efficiency by tracking quotes and projects. This tracking leads to minimizing overhead, which then increases the value and benefits added to our dealers and customers without increasing in-house costs.
“The dynamic of partnership and empowerment allows the end-user companies that are utilizing HAWKER® batteries, chargers, and vehicles to receive a much higher level of engineering and system development support,” says Kenemore. “The electrical energy supply is increasingly better than what has been available previously in Mexico. With such a strong product line and technical support, we can forge strong, long-lasting relationships.”
The relationship with the HAWKER® Dealer Network has provided immense benefits to BCI and their development of motive power in Mexico.
“There are three advantages that stem from partnering with Hawker that no other battery manufacturers can meet,” says Kenemore. “First, the quality of the Hawker product. Second, Hawker’s factory service and support throughout the sales process or whenever an issue arises (which is very rare). And third, Hawker’s constant focus on metrics, analysis, and technology development.”
The HAWKER® Dealer Network has not only connected BCI to an excellent product line but also thorough and helpful support, as well. Because HAWKER® cares about the dealers and the end-user customers, we promise to continually pursue excellence in our operations, product line, and service. HAWKER® stands out in the materials handling industry because of our focus and dedication on designing and delivering the best motive power solution tailored to every operation.
“No motive power company in today’s world has a better customer-centric approach than HAWKER®,” says Kenemore. “When an issue arises, Hawker is the first to the table. They actively look for the root cause of the problem and, if it stems from their manufacturing, will make it right for the end-user.”
The resources available from HAWKER®, such as remote monitoring via HawkerNet, work seamlessly with our dealer’s systems without increasing their overhead. With the assistance of HAWKER®, our dealers are equipped to serve customers not only at the point of sale but also throughout the life of the equipment and beyond.
“Without the extremely high quality of HAWKER® products and service, I would have been required to implement an extensive service presence to handle industry standard warranty levels,” says Kenemore. “Now, by working together, we can continually push the limits of technology in the constantly changing material handling industry in the Mexican market.”
Ultimately, HAWKER® actively participates in our relationships with those in the HAWKER® Dealer Network to ensure the highest quality motive power solutions.
“Through advanced technology, quality products, and ample resources, HAWKER® and BCI have a synergistic relationship in which together, we are stronger and better able to serve our customers than either would achieve separately,” says Kenemore.
